D.C.

Can we talk about how it’s already mid July? June happened SO fast. I had a few trips and birthday celebrations all back to back. I had just uploaded my latest lookbook video on YouTube and then all of a sudden, it’s July. Where do I even begin? I made a quick little trip to D.C. last month. My hair stylist, Linh, is actually from the area. He recently opened up a brand new salon out in Rockville, Maryland. I was unable to make it to the grand opening party, so I knew I had to head out there to show some love. Also, to get my hair done (duh). Since Rockville is right next do D.C., I thought I’d make a quick trip out there as well to check out our nation’s capital.

It was super fun. It was excruciatingly humid, but loads of fun. I got a chance to walk around the city a bit. I stopped by Lincoln Memorial and got some quick photos before checking into the Carlyle Dupont Circle. The Carlyle is a Kimpton hotel. I’ve stayed at a few different Kimpton hotels before, and they honestly never disappoint. From the staff to the decor, everything is always flawless. I was fortunate enough to have a corner room on their highest floor, which had an awesome view. Giving me major inspo for my future home. I hopped in the shower and made my way downstairs to have dinner at The Riggsby. The decor there was so moody. I felt like I had time traveled and was having a cocktail in a classic old school restaurant. The food was amazing, and I have to give it up for their paella. I’m a huge fan of seafood, and that dish was definitely the star of the meal. It was all a quick and short trip, but my stay here definitely made it all worth while. Check out the hotel below. They’re perfect if you’re making your way to D.C. any time soon.
